We were there last year, and we had a good vacation that time. We only experienced a small inconvenience: we were charged a higher price for the room by an employee than the price the owner initially gave us. We accepted that as a misunderstanding and decided to return this year based on the rest of our positive experience at Moramar.

Unfortunately this year we had a less pleasant experience:

First, we encountered the same "confusion" about the price of the room.

Second, they didn't keep our reservation.

Third, because they forgot (or didn't care) to keep our reservation, they ended up giving us a dorm room with four single beds to use as a private room, while we had reserved a room with double bed. Apparently this was not communicated to all the employees, and we were woken at 11pm by a staff member opening the door of our room without knocking, looking to put up more guests in the remaining beds. Although we were asleep (and naked!) he stayed in the room asking us questions. Furthermore, rather than admitting his mistake and apologizing, the employee was rude and argued with my husband, insisting that the other two beds were available for other guests.

Moramar is a good hostel if you deal with the owner, Armando, who is a very sweet person, but we've had these unfortunate experiences with the employees.

An update on the last comment (wanted to edit the last one but couldn't):
The Moramar staff have since apologized to us and are accommodating us in a regular double room. We're still a little unhappy with what happened, but at least they are trying to make up for it.
