El Caracol Dorado isnt technically a hostel (because the owners dont want to pay taxes and deal with red tape) so you'll have to ask around for Alexis. Its a nice family style place owned by a cool old cachaca and run by Alexis (from Santander I think). Its got a courtyard, kitchen, bath, kiosko, and a really laidback vibe. Plus, you're likely to be the only foreigner around (and maybe the only guest). 10,000 dorm, 15,000 private plus they can arrange long tem stays at good prices
Also, it's right across the street from a really cool fisherman who will tell you great stories and take you out fishing or cruising the coast. Can't remember the guy's name at the moment but Alexis will tell you.
