Mompos is a place of peace, a place to lay back a relax for a few days in-between rumbas in Cartagena and Medellin and therefore you must take into account that the activities on offer are very light. If you feel like being more active, rent a bicycle from La Casa Amarilla (6000 COP for 4 hours continuous or 10,000 for the day) and head out on the paved highway - don't worry you are more likely to be troubled by passing cattle trains than heavy duty truck cargo - and cycle some 40 minutes towards Bodega past the Mompos town limits to the Finca San Ignacio. It is a light cycle but very scenic.

This Finca is not a rustic coffee estate nor does it try to be, it is a place where Momposinos host graduation parties and weekend activities. So, on weekends it can be busy and raucous, loud vallenato and hordes of children. Aim to go a weekday and you'll likely have it t yourself, in particular the pool.

So, for the use of the pool and the activities the cost per person comes to a grand total of 3000 COP. There is a bar where you can enjoy an ice cold costenita and also order some lunch and while away the hours. I believe they also can organise horse back tours here.

The history of San ignacio is the following - back in the day the land was owned by a narco who has since been assassinated. The Colombian State at the time did not know what to do with his assets and therefore gave the finca to the Church who have since handed its day to day management and running to the people at the Hostal Dona Manuela (the luxury joint in Mompos).
