Barranquilla lies between Cartagena and SantaMarta. It does have the most famous party in Colombia once a year, the Carnaval de Barranquilla. If you come during the carnaval (February), make sure you have booked a room months in advance! Note: el flaco just turned up at Versalles during the Carnaval and got a room for one night.

Hotel Exito (strange name) carrera 44 # 70-05 tel 3450520 close to hotel Versalles slightly cheaper. Has two dentists next door that are good. I would stay there again. Safe area with a 2park" close by with musicians for hire.
