Zoltar Suites - Update #4

The bed frames and the nightstands finally got delivered ! I just received 2 bedrooms out of 5 but its still a good sign ! :) The bed frames are 155 x 195cm , color "wenge" with steel details (feet, headboard, etc.) here is a picture taken from the company catalog (since I still do NOT have the matress, I did not take an actual photo. Hopefully Sunday ! :)

I had some headace with the painter, since he now decided that he can install the new windows (I do NOT think he ever did it!) he said that doing so it will save me some $$ !
When I asked him, what happen if you drop one glass panel and you break it?? Who will buy a new one?? He answered right away, telling me that it will not drop the glass !

BTW to save me "some money" he made a crappy shelf out of some painted wood and installed it in the BRAND NEW bathroom ..... he destroyed the whole look, made two holes in the ceramic (to hold the shelf,of course) and he was very happy about it ...... he did this when I was out buying lightbulbs ... one of the few moments I left him alone .....

Tomorrow, I will post some more ! :)

Thanks for your interest,

Zoltar

Do not leave work men alone ...........they put up a map of colombia upside down ....and if you show them where you want somethng ..the minute you look away they put it somewhere else .....I think it is to get extra work ..that is why people pay by JOB not a total fitout ...pain in the ass......

Smile and everyone will wonder what they are missing.

All workmen claim to be able to do anything. Same happened to us, but at least that lesson was learnt in our estrato 3 apartment in the centre so it did not matter so much and we saved a lot of problems by learning about Colombian workers there, rather than in our house.
In the long-run, forget saving a few pesos to create more costly damage: obtain the specialists.
Never leave the workers to their own initiatives and always ask how they are going to do something before they start. AND WATCH THEM-DO NOT GO OUT UNTIL YOU KNOW THEY HAVE LEFT THE PREMISES. They will not like it but if they object, tell them to leave because there will always be somebody (better) to replace them.
You are learning the hard way it seems; please be careful!
