haven't heard back from you and wondered if you were nestled back in medellin.
i sure do envy your trip to llano grande, i dream daily when i can return and visit with my friends. you told me you met carlos, did you meet any of the others? did you get to gualanday. in my opinion, it's the grooviest 'centro de commercio' in all of colombia. it's quaint, wooded, lots of artists, writers and culturally oriented colombians. too, the pizza parlor is the best. there's a fireplace which runs every night and the folks who frequent are as fine as one could wish for, whereever they find themselves in colombia.
then, there's san antonio...boy is that place a rush. on saturday nights, it's party land. all of the folks are locals and what they want, is to have fun, not problems. i can remember all-nighters there that were worth the tax on the old bod.
you commented, wondering how carlos' family has all that property. it's all old family money, not trafficking money. they raise the most famous paso fino horses in the world! the pride stock of the ochoa family all came from them. as you noticed, their main finca is a little bit of heaven.
did you meet carlos' dad. great man. and chewie the dog? is he a monster or what.
don't forget my recommendation to go to por venir for the christmas candle festival. i've never seen anything like it in all my travels throughout the world. go about a week before christmas. it makes the sante fe, new mexico show a bit like a joke. dont miss it.
be well and have fun and be safe.
