Xmas in COL?

I for one am sourrounded by Colombians and feel I have found a home. I dont see eye with most gringos and don't believe you have to be in bed at 10 P.M. . Just last weekend I went to a Colombian party and it did not get going good till midnight. They started cooking san cocho at 3 A.M. and we ate at 5 A.M. . Had Live Vallenato music arounf 4 A.M. . We got home at 8:30 A.M. on sunday. How nice. Gringos are boring and there life styles are boring. I for one am glad I found People Like myself. The Colombian Life style is more to my liking than any thing Gringo. Am I Colombian ? NO! but I'm sure having the time of my life. While the gringos are watching T.V. I am out living life to it's fullest the Colombian way.

Yup, it drives me nuts. I am in bed by 8:00 pm every night. I don't have to do this, I choose to. I like to go to bed early. I think I should start blasting music and lighting fireworks at 5:00 am and continue all morning.

This year it hasn't been too bad so far in Conquistadores, Medellin. But I will have many naps over the next week.

My current tour of duty is "Daughter Detail" One of the details is to plop her in our bed at the rear of the house at about 9 pm. The lights usually go out in her prettly little eyes within about an hour. Then I put her in her crib and do spot checks on her until we go to bed. More of a country boy than a party animal, I kind of like this new life of mine. Don't miss the money spent or the hangovers. Anytime I want to go out, Suerga is always available and just next door. Wifie goes out once in a while too.

Xmas started here on the 7th. Fireworks, street activities. For the last week every evening, my wifes been taking the kids down to the disco at the bottom of the street. Thet've had a program for the kids every night and give them some sweets when they leave. They also visit other houses to hear songs. Tomorrow, the last night, they all get presents. Our house is covered with xmas dec's I've been saving and buying stuff for years. Papa Noel here. Renting a taxi tomorrow to see all the different lights in town.

All the presents are wrapped and under the tree. Just waiting for xmas morning.

Mike is right! but how many gringos work work work and never play, spending all their time making that money only to die rich and never have taken the time to enjoy their lives and families. Oh I'm going to work till i'm rich and then live good only for that day to never come. You all know the story like I do. The Rich, Unhappy, bored wife sitting at home just waiting for time with their spouse. Naaaaaaaa not for me. I want to enjoy life along the way. I can show you a bunch of broke ass Colombians around here but they live happy and really seem to enjoy their families and friends so much more.

I base my opinion on what I see. Nothing is set in stone. I just see lots of Gringos around me that I just can't live their life style. I am not saying it's not ok for them. And tomtom33 I was not one of them either. 7 years ago my life took a 180 when I met my Colombian wife. For the better I must say. Much better!!!!

What can I tell ya JS , Folks got to work to make a living but my Colombian friends and family sure know how to have a great time around the Holidays or for any given weekend as a matter of fact. The Colombians I been around are just more fun then any of the Gringos I use to be around. I love the fact that they love to dance all night long. or the fact that after we go to the Club till it closes at 3 A.M. we go eat at anyone of the little places that open just for the after the bars close. Every one latin every one packed and guess what not a gringo in site , other than a few folks like me. Music still going and sometimes people still dancing. FUN !!!!! I am glad I found a group of people like this. Like I said before I am having the time of my life at 41 and every year only gets better.

ditto, tomtom...just add another decade, gray hair, false teeth and talkin.... i gave up the fast lane and night life quite afew years back...not that i don't fall prey periodically, but as a way of life, it's history. just don't have the energy any more. the desire might be, but old brother ass (my body) just wont coooperate.
