Wrestlemania 23 in Medellin - Lucha Libre!

I´m showing Wrestlemania 23 via the webcast on the big screen at the sports bar tonight 6PM (Palm Sunday). $12000 cover. Don´t tell Vince McMahon! I didn´t do a lot of advertising. Sent the flyer out to my email list and went to the major colegios like UPB and San Carlos, etc. this week at the time the kiddies get out for the day and dispersed a bunch of flyers. Hung a few flyers around at internet cafes and a few other kiddie hot spots. The feedback from the kids have been quite impressive even a handful of parents called to ask questions like can they acompany the cild without paying the cover, what time will it be over, etc. I don´t know if I´m going to have 5 guests or 50. All in all, I just hope the kids that come have a good time and pray EPM´s triple play doesnt go down as it has been doing a lot lately.

Who wins tonight? Trump or McMahon?

Man, I just got back from watching Wrestlemania and it was awesome!
I'm glad McMahon lost his hair although I also wanted to see the Donald bald.

I was rooting for Batista to win but the Undertaker is a 'phenom', a true legend! What an incredible match, it was pure power, those guys really gave it every ounce of their strength. Now the 'dead man' is 15-0 at Wrestlemania.

I also wanted Shawn Michaels over John Cena, but that lock Cena got Michaels in was just too much. That 'Money in the Bank' match was also something else, poor Edge looks like he really got hurt.

Seeing McMahon bald was worth the price alone!

I would have loved to see that. I am too cheap to spend $60, or whatever it was, to watch it though. Plus, I had to work anyway. Thanks for the update Simon.

Wrestling is fake! blows my mind that anyone would pay $60 to watch something already set up.

Not 2 utes but 22 youthes /P.S. Brians, what is UFC?? Well lucha libre is alive and well in Medellin. Had some cute kiddies and some late teens and twenty-somethings cheering and clapping. 22 in all and a few with wwe t-shirts.

My favorite was the ladder match. Maybe it´s fake, probably it´s fixed, but it´s fun entertainment. Take it at that face value.

For anyone in Medellin, I can show a repeat of the webcast at anytime, so if you´d like to see it, stop and just buy a burger and a few beers and we´ll forget about any cover for the repetition.

Brians is UFC is Ultimate fighting?

Let me ask you something. Do you also not like movies because they're fake also? Everytime you go to the movies, you know everything you're gonna see is fake also, so what's the differernce? I think wrestling is more entertaining than most professional sports and wrestlers are among the world's greatest athletes

I don't see how someone jumping off the top rope and doing a backflip in the air is "fake". Or someone bodyslamming a 300 or 400 pound giant, or even lifting them up over their head!

How is that fake?

Simon since when do you spend $60 USD to watch a movie???? blows my mind even more if you do!!! All the moves they do in wrestling are fake, a back flip or throwing yourself from a ladder doesn't make it real. If you know about martial arts you would see that the choke holds they use in wrestling would be unlocked in a second in a MMA fight. But its cool man I don't hate the fact you like it, its just crazy to me people actually pay 60 dollars for it.

How can a backflip be fake? You think those guys are attached to invisible strings? Regardless of what people think, professional wrestlers are amazing athletes...guys like Shawn Michales, Rey Misterio, those guys are awesome to watch.

And I most most people who get pay per view events split the bill up among everyone who comes to watch the event.

I'm no wrestling fan... by any means but I do have to admit that they are incredible athletes! I bet not one of us on this site could do a third of what those guys can...Well not on purpose and damn sure not repeatedly! LOL

Bo knows Colombians like NFL Símon you don´t realize that in the sports bar in Medellin on a regular NFL Sunday it´s 2/3 Paisas and 1/3 gringo.

You are very right about how many here like Lucha Libre. There´s 2 WWE shows on FX every week as well. I put the big screen out tonight and replayed wrestlemania. Kids flocked to watch. More came for the repeat of wrestlemania today than for the Uefa Champions League quarterfinals. If it´s not Barcelona, Real Madrid or the world cup final, They dont come to watch an international match. Milan vs. Inter? River vs. Boca? Manchester United vs. Chelsea or Arsenal? Sao Paolo vs. Corinthians? Benfica vs. Porto? Bayern Munich vs. Werder Bremen? Ajax vs. PSV? Nope. Too busy sleeping off the bottle of guaro.

You´d be amazed at what sports Colombians have asked for me to find to watch....Euroleague Basketball, men´s field hockey, argentine polo, swimming, martial arts, volleyball.

I was being my typical wanker self making a play on words NPR Radio/NPR Rodeo. I'm a big rodeo fan and my kids and I have been contestants in various local rodeos. I always watch the NFR in Vegas every year.

60 dollars is a lot of money when the cost of two nude women to for a back/front rub is 40 dollars. Normally I only get one nude woman but it was my birthday. Then again wrestling lasts longer and I did get the Wednesday night special.
