Would Your First Car Be Cool in Colombia Today?

My first car was a 1976 Plymouth Volare. I think it would still be good enough for Colombia these days. I owed $500 in parking tickets and it got towed away. The city auctioned it off for $50.

My first car, and thx for the memory Morph, was a 1955 Chevy, primed paint, raised but more so in the back, and it had a 327 Corvette engine. I haven't seen anything like this in Colombia.

gringoloid...you should go to Manizales...i have seen and admired several 56 Chevys there which are still being driven....i saw one outside of a butcher shop one time.....The condition was used, oxidized, but the body was clean.....they dont build cars like that anymore....the Colombian government has hundreds of impounded/seized cars from bad guys....i read an article last year criticizing the government for storing these cars OUTSIDE in the weather for the last several years....the value of the cars decreasing daily due to weather damage...The US allegedly provided $$ and and inventory program which was never implimented, hence they dont even know what vehicles they have...the article mentioned a good portion of them were exotic and muscle cars......to have a day shopping there would be coolllll...jajajaja

My husband bough this car in Colombia it was a chevy 1954, when he got it the yellow color was very bright and the green was a metallic green it was in such a good condition, he fell in love with the car and brought it all the way back to England, but unfortunately when the car arrived to the UK it was in a very bad state, because we had to leave the car in Cartagena so it could be ship from there, some vandals went were the car was kept and scratched it, and wrote on the back of the car "made in Colombia" and i think they left the car outside for a long time because the color were less intense due to the sun and salt, also the radio was stolen. we complin but as you know in Colombia so much burocracy we just leave it like that, we sold the car eventually.

my husband bought the car before our wedding and he drove it to the church on our wedding day, also we went all the way to the coast on our honeymoon in it.

I was driven in a Chevy Bel Air -54 to my wedding in Cali. That was my husband's family's car for over twenty years, orange/white color, mint condition. We called it the guanabana, not because of the color but because of the shape.

Damn Morphus, that's a great first car !!! I had a "beat down" '76 FIAT and it lived up to it's name Fix It Again Tony........I'd cram myself into that tiny car and hit the roads. Flipped it and amazingly came out alive.

That car would not even pull chicas in colombia...jajajajaja

Mine was a 1969 AMC Rambler American with a 199 straight 6 and 3-on-the-tree hand me down from my brother. It finally blew-up after 170,000 Miles.

My 1951 Mercury would be in "Like Flynn" in either Colombia or Cuba. It was a Forest Green Flathead V-8 with Overdrive, Push Button Starter, 3 speed stick on the Column and had Suicide Doors(note location of door handles-- Al Capone's Men like Suicide Doors as they gave good Firing leverage to position their Tommy Guns from) The Owner, a neighborhood friend, included an Extra, Spare 51 Merc parked in his backyard for spare parts with a blown engine. He sold both to me for the Princely Sum of $125. The Day I sold it was, in Hindsight, by far one of the biggest regrets in my life.

Mine was a 67 bitchin camaro with more bondo than metal. Somehow got 50k more miles out of it after I bought it in 1987. I wanted to restore it and had a basement full of Original GM parts and sheet metal including all original GM quarters, wheel wells, rocker panels, gas caps, seatbelts, cluster gagues, medallions, etc. etc. etc. that I accumulated throughout the late 80´s. Gave up the restoring dream and let the parts sit in the basement. They stopped making original parts and in 2001 sold all the original parts on eBay for over 10 grand. The GM quartes that I paid $200 a side went for almost $2000 each. The original GM unscathed black dash pad went for a $1000. I paid $75 for it in 1988 ripping it out of a junker. Heck an original lighter in the aqua blue GM box brought $170. Miss the late 90´s early 2000´s I want it and dont care what it costs mentality.
