Two days to go, It might help them write right Bogotá as well as Colombia.

Located high in the Andes mountains (2640 meters/8661 feet above sea level), Bogata is the largest and most populous city in Columbia, with nearly 7 million residents.

The city was founded in 1538 as Sante Fe de Bogata and since that time has flourished as a major cultural city in South America.

A cultural center, the city is home to 42 museums, 12 libraries, 36 churches, 132 national monuments, 25 universities, 21 theaters and 20 cultural centers.

The city is also known for the emerald trade, as millions of dollars in domestically produced rough and cut emeralds are bought and sold daily.

Additionally, Bogota is home to ciclorutas, a network of 303 km of bike paths -- one of the most extensive dedicated bike path networks in the world.

The community chest card...

You have won 2nd place in a beauty contest. Collect $15.

might become

"You have won 2nd place in a beauty contest. Collect free boob-job. Become pre-pago"

(We´d always tell whomever pulled that community chest card that Godzilla won)

Will it be a good idea?, will it help Colombia? maybe not, just will teach many people the proper way of spelling.

http://www.eltiempo.com/bogota/2008-02-26/ARTICULO-WEB-NOTA_INTERIOR-3...

What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been

Yeah, and the Mexican city is Cancun. Really captures the spirit of the country.

The boys at Hasbro are not going to choose Colombia. And Colombians should be more worried about real milestones.

What are some of the notable locations in the Colombian version?

OK, I just took it out, it was right next to my Monopoly Star Wars Saga Edition. Let's see, we have Avenida Colombia, Plaza Caicedo, Avenida Roosevelt, Parque Caldas, Avenida Santander, El Malecon, Avenida Libertadores, Aeropuerto de Cali, Avenida Nutibarra, Parque de Berrio, Johnny Cay, Cartagena Colonial, Avenida Pedro de Heredia and a few others.

Johnny Cay. Too funny. Definitely a notable place though. Thanks.

Mine says Avenida Jimenez, La 72 and others I can't see to clear because my glasses are no where to be found.

winnipeg? someone must be kidding...

ColombianoGringo says on Feb 26, 2008, 15:44:

All it takes to skew this sort of thing is a radio station in Winnipeg to get a bunch of listeners to vote. I am sure that in some cases, some people would program a bot to automatically cast votes. They are easy to program.

podborski says on Feb 26, 2008, 16:36:

yeah I know CG. Winnipeg is one of the ugliest cities on the planet, yet I know lots of people from there and they all love it...all except Rubito of course.

I try to be open minded, I've visited the place many times...but it just isn't possible...

manINred says on Feb 26, 2008, 16:46:

Winnipeg? HAHAHA.

And who can forget the well-known Tarnworth, Australia.

Canada has been really annoying me lately, quite frankly I'd have trouble voting for any city in the country at the moment! And I wouldn't vote for Bogota either, I'd rather Santa Marta or Medellin. Buenos Aires, London and Barcelona get my vote, of those on the list.

Monpirri says on Feb 26, 2008, 17:42:

Ok, Simon let's get together this Sunday I'll stop by your house and I'll bring my Colombian edition and of course everyone is welcome to play wtih us, just BYOB and your own fritanga.

Who is going to buy world monopoly? Hmm, my version with local cities just aint cutting it...

How pissed off are the people of Winnipeg going to be when they end up with the $60 rents, besides Tamworth. Do you think Bogota is going to be the next Boardwalk, si o que?

http://www.eltiempo.com/bogota/2008-03-02/ARTICULO-WEB-NOTA_INTERIOR-3...
