World Youth Championships

I know not to much weight should be put on this competition but Im sure a few of us will be following it as we all like to see Colombia win things. (while others enjoy watching us lose so they can have another topic to bag Colombia on)

And they have got off to a great start knocking off Italy. Its predicted that Italy and Colombia would be the two teams from Group E to go through so this should line them up for a group win with Syria and Canada making up the group.

The US (This bits for you Gman) have also got off to a good start with a 1-0 win over the Argentinians. The FUTURE is looking good for the US.

Chile had a 7-0 win over the other Concaf powerhouse Honduras

My boys the Aussies got off to a disapointing start with a 1-1 draw with Benin
and Brasil were held 1-1 by Nigeria.

I know little of the teams in the Comp. who are the favourites?

A few of the bigger names in football notably France, England and Czech aren't there is this through failure to qualify or not interested?

Col 2 - Italy 0 Thought I should add the score.

2 Goals past an Italian defence is a good start to any tournament

Renteria (76') and Guarin (93')were the goal scorers

Carter Spain and Turkey qualified as they contested the Uefa youth Championship Final. The Ukraine and Switzland were the lossing teams in the semi finals and so qualified too. Italy and Germany qualified as the finished third in their respective groups.
Therefore no places for Englnd,France or Czch Republic.

Just wondering how serious these countries take the tournament I doubt the likes of Rooney would have pulled on the boots for the English side.

Do top clubs release players for International U20's duty?

Colombia v Canada Goalfest or can these guys play?

Brasilian bloke who posted on the other U20 post, we should get a good idea of the Concaf v Conembol in tomorrows Confederations Cup.
I think its more of an indicator than the U20`s.

It looks like the Brasilians have sent a good team while the Argentinians are resting a few for the Confederations.

Look out for the dangerous Aussies in the Confederations cup.

Is the Confederations Cup being televised in Colombia?
