Withdraw cash with a Canadian Debit Card ?

Hi !!!

I would like to know if it's possible
to withdraw cash from an ATM using that
my INTERAC Debit Card...(from Banque Laurentienne in Montreal)
It's said that we can use it abroad
with ATMs using PLUS network and that
there is a 3$ fee for each transaction...
Is that true ?
Thanks for your help.
Than

Yes, you will be OK with "PLUS" or "CIRUS" on your card. However, if you have "PLUS" on your card, and the bank machine only accepts "CIRUS" you will have to find another ATM

My Bank of Montreal, and my CIBC card both worked in Colombia (BMO = CIRUS and CIBC = PLUS). I got charged two $1.50 fees (Canadian $) per transaction ($1.50 for using a machine that didn't belong to my bank, and $1.50 foreign transaction). The exchange rates are the best you will get though, so ATM is the way to go.

You will be able to take out 300,000 to 500,000 pesos at a time ($150-$250 Canadian dollars).

I brought 2 cards for a reason... if you loose one, you may be screwed. I kept one at my fiances place, and another with me. If i lost (or got one stolen) I wouldn't be in such bad shape.

I don't think you can get two debit cards for the same account, so you may want to start another account and get another card.

Bon Voyage
