Will McCain become the first Colombian born President of the USA?

The way I see it, Panama still belongs to Colombia, and as McCain was born on a US military base in Panama, that means he was born on Colombian soil. Colombians in the US should support Mac, That way we'll have our own boy in the White House.

Hey, if Spain still has a claim on Gibraltar, Argentina the Malvinas and Nicaragua, San Andres, then Panama still belongs to Colombia.

A base taken by force, not legitimate and not US soil in my eyes.

gringoloid says on Tuesday February 26th, 2008 17:22: edit

is mccain colombian?

it says in the constitution that you have to be a "natural born" citizen.

mccain was born at a submarine base in Panama to american citizens and of course making him a citizen but he was not natural born.

we have a little problem here called the Hay-Bunau Varilla Treaty of 1903.

this was signed fraudulently by a french citizen and was known as "The Treaty No Panamanian Signed". Another words, a fraudulent treaty that was not abolished until 1977.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hay-Bunau_Varilla_Treaty

so here it says in part:

Congress of the United
States of America having passed an Act
approved June 28, 1902, in furtherance of
that object, by which the President of the
United States is authorized to acquire within a
reasonable time the control of the necessary territory
of the Republic of Colombia, and the sovereignty
of such territory being actually vested in
the Republic of Panama, the high contracting
parties have resolved for that purpose to conclude
a convention and have accordingly
appointed as their plenipotentiaries.?

So, was the Canal Zone of the Republic of Panama a U.S. territory .................................or a U.S.-controlled Panamanian territory?

If the Canal Zone is a U.S. controlled panamanian territory, Sen. McCain may not be a natural born citizen and may not qualify to become president.

The meaning in the Constitution refers to the U.S. borders and not whether or not your parents were citizens.

There is a wildly abstract case to be made because the treaty was falsely ratifiied that mccain is colombian.

Robert Jorge says on Apr 10, 2008, 21:39:

Gloid - off topic, but have you seen the relatively new movie called "Shooter" with Mark Walberg? GREAT movie - and it's right up your alley politically. Lots of conspiracy stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought of you last night when I watched it. I think I might just watch it again right now.

RJ- IMHO, the best candidates of BOTH parties have already exited the race and the remaining others have been sidelined. In 2000, when I would have supported McCain, the Republican Party bosses didn't want McCain. They chose Bush instead, I'll bet they regret that decision 'til their last breath! Its too bad our system doesn't allow a good 3rd party candidate a chance unless he/she has extremely deep pockets! The last good Indy they had, IMO, was Ross Perot! Candiadates like Ross have the big Party Bosses quaking in their Boots! LOL

Like Perot, he wouldn't stand a chance as he is too honest and plain spoken. The Media and party bosses hate a Candidate they cannot package and control.

Hannity had Ventura on his radio program today. It was a pretty good interview and Jesse was very well-spoken. Sean tried to bait him and made smart-ass comments, and Jesse's responses were articulate and perfect rebutals. Sean, though obviously not being vicous or anything like that, was made to look like a dick a few times. (my opinion)

miamimike says on Apr 11, 2008, 01:18:

RJ..................i haven't seen the movie and one of the problems i have here is that when they take a hollywood movie title and translate it into spanish it becomes a total different meaning.

Like for that movie "Diehard", I would have titled it "Morir Duro"', but if you look, it's something totally different.

i actually go by the billboards and see who is in it and then look it up that way, not by the title.

jorgegdiaz says on Apr 11, 2008, 07:25:

So, does he have Panamanian or Colombian citizenship?

if I remember correctly that situation has come afloat before; Barry Goldwater, who won the republican nomination for president in 1964, faced questionning because when he was born in 1902, Arizona wasn't a state yet, still was a territory. Additionally, Mitt Romey's father, George Romney, who was born in Mexico city, was up to the same situation. However, his presidential campaign back in ´68 didn't last long enough for anyone to raise the issue.

Juan McCainn would have been thousand times better than jr should he had won the nomination in 2000.

That wording "natural born citizen" is what keeps away Arnold form the white house.

Man with hole in pocket feel cocky all day.

de pronto says on Apr 11, 2008, 08:00:

Is this an ironic post?

Interesting... but even though that for some McCain is " a born colombian" I really doubt that he will behave himself as a president for colombian people... cause americans will want to vote for someone who really cares about the United States.

LOL

... y viaje a Macondo todo pagado

Lcacique says on Apr 11, 2008, 08:50:

If we assume that he is a "Colombian" as billyb suggests, he is not in the mainstream considering that he accepts support from Reverend John Hagee (who links Catholics to the Nazis and claims they are an evil cult) and claims that he is a good man. Considering most of Colombia is Catholic, I think many would be just a little bit offended.
