Hola,
Been living and working in Trinidad for the last 4 months. This gig ends in June, then I am planning to visit Colombia in early July. Land in Bogota, spend a few days, fly to Cali, Medellin, and then to Cartagena and Baranquilla. See the whole country in a week.
Any travel advice would be greatly appreciated, amigas y amigos. It's a whirlwind tour, but I am scouting out the possibility of moving to one of the Colombian cities.
If anyone here will be there in July and wants to hook up, just let me know. Gracias.

nbenjamin says on May 14, 2007, 10:51: Advice 1. Take a van or a taxi between Cartagena and Baranquilla. It is safe, it is way cheaper than a plane, and they run van and taxi services between the two cities all the time. It will pick you up at your hotel and take you to your destination in baranquilla (or vice versa) it will be faster than flying, (I would imagine) about an hour and 45 minutes door to door.

Buongone says on May 14, 2007, 17:52: Cabbie in Cali I have a good dudes name & number if you plan on Cali. He might be able to show you around alot. Pretty knowledgeable. Speaks English too. If needed drop a line. Doe's anyone know the name of the area in Bogota, up by Hamberguesas marquesa? Or of the area up a little from the big Church downtown, with the square, with alot of restaurants nearby? Whats the name of the area around the Marina? In CTG. I would say do lots of research before buying, Make damn sure thats where you want to buy. Like Gator posted on the TRM 2000-1 thread. If you buy at the wrong time, I might end of costing you a bunch, or saving alot later. Big spread. Happy Hunting
