wife and tourist visa

Has any U.S. citizen living in the U. S. having already filed an I-130 for his colombiana wife had any success in her obtaining a tourist visa from the embassy in Bogota. I have upcoming back surgery and have a Veterans Administration Hospital letter stating that I will need help to recover after my imminent surgery here in the states. She will I am sure receive a visa as the wife of an american born citizen but we have a scheduled appointment August 30th at the embassy for her travel visa and am hoping to maybe shorten the time for her to get her in case the VA abruptly schedules the surgery before the I-130/K-3 process is finalized.
Thanks
Capt Bill

We will be living here in the U.S. after she obtains her wife-residency visa
