Why is... BILL GATES IN COLOMBIA?

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!

Bill Gates, the president of Microsoft, shakes the hand of the President of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe

I may not be a smart man, but I know a sweetheart land deal when I see one... and I think Bill Gates has a personal interest in purchasing a second home in Colombia as an added investment to his vast portfolio.

What does Bill Gates know about investing in Colombian real estate... learn more about the recently proposed new law submitted to the Colombian congress at http://medellin-colombia.blogspot.com Yes it is in ENGLISH!

I doubt he is naive enough to believe he won't be CRUCIFIED (figuratively) should he become involved in land deals. Anyway, I think he might have slipped to SECOND most wealthy, behind Carlos Slim,, then again, Microsoft stock was up 12% and AMX was down,, so maybe not but Slim seems to be in solid second ahead of Buffet.

I can see the headlines -United States Steals our land- ,, -Development displaces thousands of natives living in their ancestral homes-,,, -Colombians can't afford to live in their homelands-,, -United States sends it's filthy rich to plunder our land-,, Foreign Developments poison our land and corrupt our people- -Colombia’s RICH are friends of Bill Gates and their minions are bent on destroying the environment, polluting the coast and raping our mother land.

The list is endless. You reap what you sow.

He is in Colombia because he is providing several thousand computers to schools in poor and rural Colombia. It was announced here in the U.S. about a month ago that Microsoft was doing it's part to assist Colombia. I also believe Bill Gates has stepped down as President and CEO at Microsoft. As in he is retired now! In the December issue of Forbes it lists the top wealthiest 400 in the United States. All are billionaires. It says that Bill Gates earns $190. per second, $11,400 a minute, $685.000 per hour, $16.4 million a day, $500 million a month and six billion this year! Total worth $59 Billion U.S. dollars. Hey Bill, let me hold a dollar till Tuesday!

"Hi, what do you guys know about real estate in Medellin? I'm thinking of buying a couple of Medellin suburbs, which I want to clear away and then use as a building site for my mansion.

Which suburbs should I choose? El Poblado? Sabaneta?

Or do you guys think I should choose some other city for my HQ? Which is better, Bogota, Cartagena? What about safety, and which one has the hotter girls?

"Hi, I'm thinking about starting a business down in Colombia. I have a lot of business experience in software engineering.

I want to do a project in import/export (mainly export) on a world scale. Working title: Yeyosoft.

Does anyone know an English speaking lawyer who can help me with the investor visa?

Some people I know met him and was given money to fix their poor houses in the veredas around there.
He got there unannounced and with no bodyguards. The boss of the police station at El Penol almost flicked out when they called him to advice.

On a more serious note, old smart Bill Gates read somewhere that he would get $4000 pesos per dollar anytime this year. Being an early bird himself he is getting ready to cash in.

GIB, the guy is indeed a whore-monger and he likes Colombianas, I know it for sure.

First time I saw him it has been in a well known putas bar in Saint Martin some years ago. I was having a beer with some friends and he got in, looked around, took a Colombian hottie and off he went.
We saw him again around Maho casino, with the same girl, driving a yellow Jeep.
I later talked to the girl. He was indeed Bill Gates, got her to Maho hotel, but he had his yacht docked in Simpson Bay.

But it also helps people.

What's so wrong with that?

I think blogs are great for freedom of speech. I also think it allows many to learn from each other. But the sad part is to see some very ignorant comments. I guess you must take the good and the bad.

I dont know what Bill Gates is doing in Colombia but whether its for for personal or business reasons I'm glad he is there. Colombia needs positive exposure. Its a far cry from the 80's and 90's when the only mention of colombia in any media outlet would be to detail some situation involving drugs, crime, murder, and all that other juicy sexy news the media loves.

I hope he is investing. I hope he is donating. I also hope he meets a beautiful woman in colombia as well.

Take care guys.

I actually ran into Gates the other day. He and his family were driving around in a minivan. I think it was a Toyota. I thought it was pretty great that the richest (or 2nd richest) man in the world was cruising around in a minivan. I think his friend Warren Buffet may have taught Gates a thing or two about the the value of the common touch.

The articles on the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation indicate he is NOT doing much in Colombia. Maybe NOT much is more than more?

http://www.gatesfoundation.org/default.htm. Do a search on the word Colombia.

Oh,, the foundation is helping Canadian Poor, tired, masses huddled under thick layers of blankets inside their igloos.

http://tinyurl.com/2gzx5x

What's Microsoft doing? Who knows, but I'd bet any requests are referred to the foundation,, kind of like saying --I gave at the office--

PS: Watch out !!!! I see the foundation is backing Frankenfood. Sneaky!!!

Just him going to Colombia is a big deal. Do you know how many people are afraid to go to Colombia? Most! One time I met 2 doctors from Miami in Cuba. We were having dinner in Havana and I mentioned Colombia to them. The one guy said "no way! They'll blow brains"...LOL. Thats the first thought that came to his head about Colombia...getting his brains blown out. Meanwhile, at least some people would help you if you were dying in the street in Colombia. If you were dying in the street in Cuba, they would just go for your wallet and let you rot.
