Here in Miami the Colombianas and Venezulanas want to marry a Cuban who arrived via the Smuggling route as if they marry a Person like this, they get Residency, work permits faster, not to mention the free health insurance and food stamps. If they marry a Cuban or American who is either a citizen or who arrived in the Legal manner with a Visa from Habana, the Woman isn't eligible for all these benefits. The going price for Marriage for papers to such a person reflects the high premium these days around $10K+ ,,,

I seriously don't get the guys that are bitter about Colombian women. It's a two way business transaction. If they all think that the Colombianas are seriously in love with them for "who they are" , they are mistaken. Yeah Enrique I think the same but the worst part is that some gringos feel betrayed for those "evil" colombians; however, from the beginning they sell themselves as "gringos" meaning that: if you love me you can have a green card, and money, you can improve your life with me...

I mean they sell themselves as a good partido based on money, different opportunities in the US, etc, etc...

I have always said: "siempre hay un roto para un descosido" and if there are "evil" colombianas, also there are "stupid" gringos showing the wallet first and new experiences which are not based on them as persons but on what their country (US in this case) can offer to "poor" colombianas.... obviously some marriages are based on true love...

Maybe they're just making a mockery of the system... Everyone knows that the easiest way to get a greencard is marrying a citizen.... Doesn't matter where you originate from... I was listening to NPR the other day and they were discussing the Chinese version of the same situation.... Where chinese women citizens marry chinese men for about 60 to 80K, there's an entire package, but the basics is they will perform the marriage in China, like 8 different couples, with a huge reception and pictures, then they jump countries on visas, get new names, make it to Belize and from Belize up to the states... It's a huge operation that the U.S. can't figure out, because they are constantly changing their routes....

But, nonetheless, the end is still the same, access to the U.S. illegal, but legal...

The way it works is... They make on final stop in Belize... Flying from Asia to Belize is cheaper and less noticeable.... Then from there they make it to the U.S., but they normally do the stop in Belize because of some new identity that they've bought as part of the fee...

All that is required is that it is an actual marriage where the couple live together and share all that a normal marriage entails, sex, money, benefits etc. If they marry as a result of some idiotic reality show, well, that's no worse than how a lot of these couples meet.
