Who sings this song?

I just returned from Cali after an amazing trip! We danced so much and had the time of our lives. There was this song that was played a lot there and I have been trying to figure out who it is. The only lyrics I know are "ay-ay" and the video is a dark skin man in a white suit or outfit. I'm not sure if he is even Colombian but thought someone on PBH would know. Does anyone know what song I'm talking about????

"ay-ay" or "ay-ay-ay" ? Not much to go on, but Fruko y sus Tesos are really popular in Cali and they have a song called "El Preso" that goes:

Ay ay ay que negro es mi destino
Ay ay ay todos de mi se alejan
Ay ay ay perdi toda esperanza
Ay a Dios sólo llegan mis quejas

It's great salsa and it gets played a lot on Cali radio (La Z). I'm guessing the song you're talking about is salsa.

Fruko is *awesome* if you like salsa (salsa dura) and Youtube has a lot of their stuff. "Gringo Rumbero" is hot salsa and the video is hilarious! (this one is for you, Gringo!)

a long shot but you never know...

I imagine there are a lot of dark-skinned men in suits, but the late Piper "Pimienta" Diaz has a lot of really good salsa music and always seems to be pimped out in a dapper suit.

"ay-ay" It is a short and fast "ay-ay". My husband swears he says "puerto rico do the salsa." I have no idea. I will play it for my mother today and see if she can translate anymore lyrics! It is killin me! Oh, and eventhough the songs you said were not it, now I have more salsa to add to my ipod! Thanks!

"ay ay" we need to know what more is in that song because in Cali we have many songs with that sounds. can you be more specific?, that song could be salsa reggaeton or even vallenato.

Son De Cali or Orquesta Guayacan Son De Cali - Ay Ay Ay
or
Orquesta Guayacan - Hay Amor Cuando Hablan Las Miradas

Two very good songs. I hope this helps.
