Without knowing where in Asia you are, I would guess you would be coming to the US west coast. I suggest you try www.kayak.com or a travel agent to check on flights from LAX to BOG. Only one stop is needed, further east in the US. I'm seeing flights as low as USD $534.69 including taxes and fees.

American, Continental and Delta have good prices, and can get you from LAX to Bogota in one day. If you are arriving in SFO, you can still get to Bogota in one day, but the ticket is a little higher priced.

Direct Flights There are direct, non-stop flights to Bogota from Miami, Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Ft Lauderdale and Newark. The airlines offering these flights are American, Continental, Avianca, Lan, Delta, and a few others I forget.

For other major cities in Colombia, the largest variety of direct flights originate from Miami.

I am sure I am missing both cities and airlines. but hopefully this helps.

Flights The above is correct into Bogota, I would add JFK at New York with Avianca. Into Cartagena only flights from Miami and to Barranquilla which is close enough to drive to Cartagena from JFK also. You can also connect with Copa Airlines in LAX and they have a flight through Panama to Cartagena.

Try Ft Lauderdale for Flights to Colombia The Airport is less confusing then Miami and you avoid the perpetual construction dilemma(disaster) at Miami ;not to mention its cheaper(ft lauderdale) as the built in departure taxes at Miami are the highest of any USA Airport. By flying out of Miami, you help pay for that disasterous construction,,,

Ft Lauderdale is a bit of a pain... ... if you are switching airlines. For example, I had to take a bus with all my luggage to switch terminals between Continental and Avianca. Also, the Avianca counter doesn't open very early so I had to sit around with all my luggage for over two hours before I could check them. This is a real problem if you are traveling alone and have to take a leak.

Granted, Miami can be crazy, but at least you can walk your bags between airlines without all the hassles.
