Where to stay for 24 houras in LAX arriving from Colombia

There are a ton of decent hotels within a 5 minute drive from LAX. Depends on how much you want to spend.. I haven't stayed at any of them but I know a lot of them have free shuttle service to and from the airport. In fact if you end up finding a smaller hotel with no shuttle service and it's near a larger hotel with shuttle you can still use the other hotels shuttle to get you closer to your destination. I probably wouldn't mention you are freeloading a ride but it can be done. Although if you aren't familiar with the area it's probably best just to stick with a branded hotel and their in house shuttle bus. Or take a cab to the hotel, there will be tons of cabs outside.

I don't blame you for wanting to get a room. I've hung out in an airport for 10 hours before and never again if I can help it! Be careful around the LAX area, esp at night... not the nicest area... but not the worst either.

Just don't show up at one of those hotels, you'll always end up paying more, sometimes even if you get corporate rates, i HATE paying for hotels, but my favorite site is www.hotwire.com it'll give you a good price, and an area, like if you put in LAX it's a zone and it'll only show you the address and the name once you've paid. It's a bit scary, but it works and the results are what you expect, it says 2.5 stars (include la quinta, holiday inn etc) and you get what you pay for.

Give it a shot, or sleep in the airport, that works, but its not for everyone.

No matter where you go, the Korean tour bus isn't far behind.

there is a motel 6 minutes from LAX, google it and you will find it. clean rooms good enough for a clean shower and a clean bed.

It sounds like you have a long time in Miami, there are lots of hotels nearby but the area is boring (that's why it's close to the airport). Better to head to the beach area with the restored art deco hotels. You can have fun just walking about or if you have time do a tour. Loads of Colombians there.

I recommend the Clay Hotel located in south beach on 1438 Washington Ave between 14-15 streets. It’s close to all the South Beach action and 5 minutes from the beach.. You can catch the Metro Bus (Miami public transportation) from the Airport for under $2. www.clayhotel.com To get to the buses at the airport go outside and cross the roads in front of you the buses are hidden away 100 yards. Or get a taxi, not that expensive.

If you want to go the hotel shuttle route, don't go for a specific hotel as the shuttles only run every half hour, instead get on the first one that comes.

do a priceline.com bid for a hotel at the LAX airport. In past I have heard of people getting a room at like the 4 or 5 star weston for $80 or less.

Venice beach is close by too. Would be fun to rent a bike and ride down the boardwalk during the day to see the "muscle" beach. Also fun to visit Santa Monica.
