I like the Suites Real 85. I was told about this hotel by some people here on this site around a year ago. It is very clean, good service, hot water, free Wi-Fi, and the location is safe - within walking distance of the zona rosa. Last time I was there it cost about $60 US per night. Each room is actually a little suite with a bedroom, living room, and kitchenette. Even the mini bar is cheap, as far as mini bars go. I don't have the contact info, but just Google search the name, and it should come up. Don't waste your time Emailing them, you'll have to call the hotel for reservations.

Hotel De La Ville http://www.hotelesdelaville.com.co

Calle 100 at Cra 14. This is very well located. The prices are not outrageous, but it is nice with large suites.

Hotel Del Parque... ...is fine. Ask for an internal room though as the street outside gets pretty noisy. Oh and go to the left hand entrance for most economical rates.

thank you all. it's hard finding a fine hotel if you don't know BGT or if you have never been there.
colonial hotels in candelaria seem to be nice but a little more expensive. is the city centre so unsafe for tourists?
in the meanwhile i'll be looking for those you named before.
thanks again

Candelaria seems to get a little seedy after the sun goes down. I've walked around centro before midnight, and I have been told I was not wise doing that. During the day, centro is as safe as any other cities downtown area. Watch out for taxis though.
