where to obtain K1 visa packet?

I have been in Colombia for about two years now. My novia and I have been together for the same amount of time. I´ve decided to go back to the states and would like to take her there on a K1 but I really don´t know the first thing about the process. I guess the first thing to do is get the packet. Could someone tell me where to get it. If its the embassy ,will they send it to me or do i have to pick it up in person? ( I am here in Cali). Also can I do all the paperwork and apply from here in Col.? Or will I have to return to the states?

If you maintain a residence in the USA (or a mailing address) then you can do the whole thing (finance visa ) while in Colombia.

Hopefully you have a relative in the USA where you can send the forms and have them resent to the appropriate service center. Nothing illegal about this you just need a valid mailing address for replies. You can also have someone send the forms to you if you can't download from visa journey or the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services web site and the web site of the US Embassy in Bogotá. . Forms are submitted to the Regional Center having jurisdiction over the petitioner's place of residence in the United States.

Just dot the "i's"and cross the "T's and you will be fine.

Rule 1. Make a copy of everything

Rule 2. Make another copy

Rule 3 send everything certified mail return receipt requested. Copy that return receit and attached them to Rule 1 and 2
