Where should I go?

Love going to new places. Loved Cartagena. Good party place but couldn't stand the vendedores. Sooo annoying. But then again, everything is so cheap in Cartagena it overridese the annoying factor of the vendors.

Was thinking about coming Jan 29-Feb4th which is right around Fat Tuesday. Is Carnaval big in Cartagena? I heard Baranquilla is fun around that time but not sure if I want to go there. Don't want to hit Rio during Carnaval but would love to hit Rio at other times of the year.

Punta Del Este, Uruguay? I heard it's unbelievable but pretty expensive. Is it a good place for a single guy to go?

Another place I would like to go is Medellin. But given it is usually 30 degrees F in February in Kentucky I really need a beach visit.
