I really do not think camping is that safe.

Safest place to camp near Cartagena would be Panama...

BOYCOTT CITGO - CHAVEZ SUCKS!!!

Damn, Rob, forgot to make that recommendation. Mrs. Gator one said, when I posed that question, "Go to sleep then wake up with no head." Crossed that suggestion off the list.

My dad used to tell me stories about camping as a scout in Colombia. The worst thing they ever had to contend with was an attack by a huge flock of vampire bats. Sadly, things are a lot more dangerous now and camping is probably not a good idea.

Honestly, the only option I could think of is a finca. If you know someone who has one or are willing to rent one, this could be safe depending on the location. However, this would probably be more hassle and expense than would be worthwhile.

Camping in sweltering heat in Cartagena. screw that. Sounds like torture. I'd rather go to the doctor and have a daily enema.

Now camping for me would be motel 6. Nature is cool, but at night give me a nice bed, toilet and shower.

I agree with the bombero, Parque Tayrona is the best option.

Two bottle of aguardiente and pass out on the beach. Now that's camping!

After two bottles of aguardiente you'll be waking up to a mix of sand and vomit, yeah that's my idea of camping :P Might as well throw in kentuckygreg2's enema! THE FUN!
