hmmmm... someone told me the other day about an ice cream store that had the best ice cream in medellin but i forgot the name. it wasn't creps and waffles and it wasn't the one with the yellow sign you see in every mall here. i think it had the name "soft" in the title but I can't for the life of me remember the full name.

I had ice cream at mimos in the unicentro mall a couple weeks ago and it was disgusting. Worst ice cream I´ve ever had. I´ve never had ice cream at mimos that made me want to go back.

I found it! the name of the place is "soft touch". the one i found is by the golf club El Rodeo. i've tried mimos and crepes and waffles and was disappointed but this "soft touch" was great! i went there this afternoon after a round of golf and it was definitely the best ice cream i've tried hee in medellin. now all i need to do is find one closer to my place and i will be one happy camper!

Yeah it had chorizo, chicharron, patacon, tajadas de maduro, frisoles, arroz, arepa, huevo frito, aji, papa cocida, ensalada. mazamora con panelitas de coco, y leche, bocadillo beleno, quesito, bunuelos. Yum, yum! no ice cream, darn!

but you're right, home made ice cream is soooooooooo good. you can control exactly what goes in...no parafin, no solidifiers, preservatives, colorants, etc. just, milk/cream sugar and what ever you like it to taste like.. i.e. chocolate, etc.

guys, guys, guys! I know how to make homemade ice cream. I've used the hand crank when i was a little kid and then the electric and later the completely automated type where no ice or salt is used because it had its own chilling capabilities. What I was searching for was a place where i could go, an ice cream parlor, to enjoy a high quality ice cream without going the the process of making it myself.

I've tried Mimos and Crepes & Waffles but so far my preference is the place I discovered the other day, Soft Touch.
