In other words, how many days after the interview, does one (lady) actually have the visa in hand and can leave the country?
Any of those with recent experience, either first hand, or indirect, who can help... I am much obliged. Need to know, for planning appropriately. Thanks for your help, in advance.

Robert Jorge says on Jan 13, 2008, 17:53: This is first hand information. Once the fiance / beneficiary receives their visa (1 to 3 days after interview), they have 6 months, 180 days, to use the visa ... ie: leave for the US. It is good for one entry into the US. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. Robert Jorge says on Jan 15, 2008, 00:08: They say 10 days, but that would be worst case scenario. Generally, it is a day or two later. They said the same thing when my fiance got her package 3 exactly a year ago. I have even heard of some people getting the visa later the same day - but that seems to be rare. Count on 3 business days, but don't be surprised if they tell her to come back the next day. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. goin_south says on Jan 15, 2008, 00:48: Hey Rob, I'm wondering, do they ever say: "It will be in the mail" Ciao! Gustav. Bienvenitos, Ike. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
|
Robert Jorge says on Jan 15, 2008, 20:25: You are expected to pick it up. I also heard a person can be given permission to pick up the visa, but I do not know what that involves. The reason is because the consulate guys will give the passport back with the visa attached to a page, as well as a packet of rules and instructions. I have no idea if that can be mailed - I never heard of that being done. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children.
