Whats the best way to get TEFL ceritifed??

I want to get TEFL certified so I can teach English hopefully in Colombia but I am flexible. I'm having trouble finding a place to get certified I live in Texas and it doesn't look they have school here =(

It sounds like my options are to travel to South America or Europe/Asia and go to a school there. It sounds a bit extreme though.

To everyone that has taught English around the World how did you approach it,what would you recommend a I do?

Go to the teaching websites, or google it, and you will find tons of links to places where you can get certified. There are 100's all over the world in tons of countries.

Side note - good for you for knowing you should get certified and not being one of those scmucks that thinks he can teach English just because he can speak it!!!!!!

You can get a celta in houston. I forget which college has it but maybe try to search for celta houston texas.

So far, so good. I have found teaching jobs here without even completing the certification but I continue to take it just to be a better teacher.

like mranderson said, it´s the CELTA that you want (it´s the most widely recognised), so google the CELTA

ok interesting, so ill go with CELTA, ive been leaning that way. I like the Houston option better because classes online lack that hands on experience.
