don't lose that ticket that you receive when you enter a parking garage in Bogota. It may take 2 days to get your car out of there......

gringoloid says on Jan 16, 2008, 08:14: fr'instance, you pull into the garage and then drop your car in the car wash area and then those guys throw it away when cleaning the interior......big mistake.

morphus says on Jan 16, 2008, 08:50: Ha Ha...It seems like everything is screwed up in Colombia. If you're not going there for the cheap booze, drugs and chocha, you're crazy!

morphus says on Jan 16, 2008, 08:54: Having a car must be worth it if you have to worry about being killed by taxi drivers all the time :)

gringoloid says on Jan 16, 2008, 09:02: let me say this........i have to move around equipment frequently......i don't like being bounced around in taxis with my back problems.......i've been stuck with no taxis available in the rain........i don't feel comfortable with that gas tank in back of the seat in some taxis, especially with the way these guys drive......my driver can drop me off and then wait for me until i'm ready to leave a place and that is convenient......we have a finca two hours away from bogota that you can't access without a 4 wheel drive.......and best of all, you know the low price i paid for this beauty.....

RAAAY says on Jan 16, 2008, 09:06: Absolutely Morphs,.............also, most of the taxis in Medellin are equipped with heat seeking missiles..............they are triggered after the driver gets the Gringo passenger to answer his cell phone. .........Its useless to argue with ignorance |

Rob77 says on Jan 16, 2008, 09:13: I lost my ticket one time in Gran Estacion shopping center, in central Bogotá. They simply asked me approx what time I entered, calculated what my normal charges would be, and added on a small flat fee for the lost ticket, something like 5 mil. It was a lot less hassle than I expected. Took about 10 minutes total. BOYCOTT CITGO - CHAVEZ SUCKS!!! |

morphus says on Jan 16, 2008, 10:19: I did'nt see much problem having a car in Medellin. Of course, my 18 year old girlfriend was driving me around. I just paid for the gas :)

ducaticole says on Jan 16, 2008, 11:40: I'm curious, about how much a month does it cost to have a driver in Bogota? That is the only way I would consider owning a car there. No way I would want to drive around in that mess and then have to worry about finding parking.

robi666 says on Jan 16, 2008, 11:50: ducaticole, if your name is Morphus you get both the driver and the car for free. And the driver would be a beautiful 18 years old girl. "I am a citizen of the most beautiful nation on earth. A nation whose laws are harsh yet simple, a nation that never cheats, which is immense and without borders, where life is lived in the present." |
|
gringoloid says on Jan 16, 2008, 11:59: mine would be considered part time at 9am to 4pm.
