I have traveled for 3 years, dubai, france, italy, kuwait, turkey, mexico, colombia and have decided at 21 regardless about how bad i would like to live in colombia i need to wait until I get a little older and have some good opportunity......

Then I suggest you to get updated information to read, what you said happened few years ago, right now Medellín is safe.

If she's training at Avianca you should just rent a love motel at El Dorado Motel. Maybe you can switch rooms every night to keep the excitement pumping. Then she can walk over to work in the AM, assuming she can still walk.

I can't say anything about reality, but my perception was...
I had jus a lil more sense of security in Bogota, when I visited there last month.
But,....I think I am jus feeling a lil more comfortable with each subsequent visit to Colombia.

I am with limited experience, on 4 trips.
But, I stayed in mostly the north 'bubble' as GIB refers to it.
Guards on every block.
To some, that would make them feel insecure.
To me,....it was a comfort.

But,...I never felt threatened, when visiting Medellin.
jus my reflections...nothing more.
Medellin is going to be One Fantastic World-Class Destination when they finish all the remodelling of the downtown area and other things in jus a few short years.

I think Bogota already is, because of the size and being the capitol city.
And, I also heard that from some people there,....'People who are serious about finding work, or career... Go to Bogota'. for now.

Where do we go from here?

For most of those from 'the North' (I am, originally), short-sleeves during the day, and a light or levi jacket by night... was perfect.

Although it rained quite abit off and on, I can't say I ever really gave much attention to the weather in Bogota. For me, it was like water off the back of a...........

Actually, the rain seemed almost tropical, of itself, without the temperature. If that's the way it is most of the year, then great. I was a lil surprised that one of the taxi guys said: no snow, ever.

Where does it snow in Colombia?

Where do we go from here?

As far as I know, it doesn't snow anywhere in Colombia. Even in Bogota, you are only 5 degrees above the equator. If there is any snow in Colombia, it is a rare occasion on a remote mountain peak. My wife said she has never seen or heard of snow in her life. Born in Bogota, lived in Villavo.

No snow in Colombia except in the snow peaks around the country. Bogotá though gets the odd hail storm a few times a year and some of them have been over a foot of ice.

Snow peaks: Nevado del Huila, Tolima, Santa Isabel, Ruiz, Cisne y Quindio (last 4 are Nevados National Park), Cocuy, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

GIB... I said the RAIN was almost tropical. and, specifically, excluded the temperature.

Oh, well. That is how it was when I was there. The rain was there, sometimes alot and sometimes not. But, it really wasn't a problem.

Those ice storms never cover much areas of town, but this one was last year and most of the undergroundparkings had the entrances covered fully in ice.
