Tri-Band I bought my novia a quad-band just to be safe and it works fine, but I believe all you need is a tri-band.

Not sure about Colombia but Panama uses the 800 gsm band only. Quad band phone will work but tri band that use 900/1800/1900 will not. Most cingular phones are tri band 800/1800/1900 but T-mobile uses the 900/1800/1900. You can do a search online to find out which band is used in Colombia.
