What to do on a 7hr layover in el dorado airport. Bogota, colombia

I may have to spend 7 hrs between flights in el dorado airport. I will be arriving in bogota at about 1:30pm and have to get back by about 8:40pm. on dec 26. What are things i can do during that time? I will be alone, and I would like to know whats the best, safe thing to do. Any feedback would be really appreciated! Thankz

Well Scotty if she is into chicas I guess so..but from Brazil if she is into chicas she has had her share....

Chill out..Go out take a taxi and have a lunch and come back...7 Hours in a airport will go nuts..
Egypt huh did that in 1999 great choice...Had an amazing time..

Are you just in transit to another country or going to another Colombian City seems like a long time in the afternoon to catch another flight to another colombian city International I can see...

Id make plans for a nice restaurant not to far from the airport....perhaps you could get a mancure or a massage..(not nessecarily exotic) to get rid of that airplane drag.

Guess you are flying Aero República because Aviancia has a lest three other flightls leaving earlier.

Downtown and La Candelaria areas are an easy ride from the airport-say 20 minutes- safe during daylight interesting and lots of good restaurants. Try a visit to Monseratte over looking Bogotá is also a good bet. and is also downtown A cable car takes you up to the top & you get the most fantastic view of Bogotá city.

BTW when you get the cab there is a 2800 peso added charge each way.

I agree with Gator, take the trip to MONSERATTE, after that, if you have time, you could bumb around the center of the city and do some window shopping. If you have never been to MONSERATTE, it is well worth the trip and TAKE YOUR CAMERA for some wonderful shots looking down on the city and the church.

On December there are Chistmas lights on most of Bogotá, a quick tour to the neighborhoods with the best decorations would be good. Maybe you get the chance to share some of the Colombian Chistmas spirtit. Only in December we will know of more activities.

Bogota has a really nice botanical garden that is in easy reach (by taxi) of the airport.
