Just curious what happened to the hotel Charlee that everyone here was wanting to invest into? I remember there was a ton of hype about this hotel. Construction was supposed to finish around now right? Have they ever even started building the hotel. Last I remember (and I concede it has been some months) it was still just an empty lot.
Any tails from any investors. Are there any spots still available? Has anyone asked for their money back? Does anyone still think this is an awesome investment? Is the hotel having problems collecting funds? Let me know I am curious sounded like a neat project.

Robert Jorge says on Oct 11, 2009, 17:35: The story is that the last 10 or 11 rooms have not sold and they are having problems finding buyers. The construction has just started from what I can tell. They were unloading rebar for the cement work 3 days ago. The hole is there, and maybe some of the foundation has been poured. But that's it. I'll check on it in a 1/2 hour - just heading down to that area to get some dinner.

Robert Jorge says on Oct 11, 2009, 19:46: I didn't really follow it - I have no more information on what's happening with it. Right now they have half the street roped off and a barrier around the property. Looks like they are starting the verticle cement forms for the structure. I know, from listening to others, that it was supposed to have already been completed.

Escape Artist says on Oct 13, 2009, 08:58: The Charlee hotel is currently under construction and has been for several months and as bickerss pointed out the first level is up. There were some serious delays in construction not due to any financial reasons but due to encountering numerous large boulders. With the proximity of the nearby buildings dynamite was out of the question so they had to hand drill each boulder to break them apart and remove them. This process was obviously very time consuming thus the two month +/- delay. The hotel was original scheduled to open some time in the spring of 2010 but as of now it appears it will open some time in the summer of 2010. As far as remaining units remaining to be sold, it is my understanding there are only a few, 3 or 4, units left to be sold. EA 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

PoorButHappy says on Oct 13, 2009, 15:08: I was in Lleras today and walked by the hotel Charlee and what I saw was they were working on the third floor (two floors were subterranean). I spoke with a worker on site and he said they should have another floor up by next week and they are scheduled to do about one floor every week and a half.
