What does it for you?....

Just wondered what everyone drinks (alcohol) when in Colombia, do you like Colombia spirits or do you just drink whatever is on hand?...

In my case it is normally some rum or guaro (antioqueño) and then by the end of the night anything I can get my hands on.

BP, that’s exactly what I do too. I start off with gauro and beer chaser, and a few hours later I’m so freaking drunk that I don’t care what the hell I drink as long as it got alcohol. You ever try that rubbing alcohol, man, that’s some nasty shit but with a little ice, not bad! At the end of the night, better yet, the following morning you’ll find my ass with my head inside the toilet. And that to me is a hell of party.

I drink Nectar when I have to, not really a favorite. Ron Viejo de Caldas goes nice with Coke. And there's a new one called Ron Santafe, which is supposedly very good.

A cold beer wherever i am is always a winner. Aguardiente always seems to end up being drunk - against all sound and rational judgement (it really is filth!!). Whiskey is popular on the coast (even if it is 40 degrees outside!!) but it has to be the rum that wins on overall quality - and you can keep your Coke - nothing nicer than rum with ice and a squeeze of lime.

I still don't understand why they don't put headrests on toilets. Or the bed in the bathroom - wouldn't it be more convenient?? Besides, that's where you keep the Listerine, for when there just ain't nothin' else to drink.

I'm with you BP I always start the night drinking a bottle of antioqueño with some friends at someone's flat. A few beers (Always Aguila) and then whatever's cheap at the bar. Ron and Ginger Ale is good! My girlfriend only drinks Vodka and Tonic, she is from Baranquilla though!
Anyone know where you can get Aguila Calendars? No one in the bars/shops will sell them!!!
