What can I expect after being informed by USCIS that my packet is being sent?

I was informed on May 2 2005 after sendind in my 380.00 fee that my packet was being sent, is this a first packet being sent to me, or is this the packet being sent to my wife in Colombia, what is the process,what can I expect from this point on, am I close.
I would really appreciate some input.

What to expect If I am not mistaken when your at the point when you pay $380.00 is when you are waiting for a apointment with the nearest USA consulate abroad in Colombia to get a visa established, and your case was already approved in the USA. As far as who it is sent to it depends on who you put on the form to get the documents. There was a form your wife had to sign approving you as the agent etc. If thats the case you will get it in the mail. If not, she should get it. That is why on the form it says its important to put a valid and good address. Hopefully that helps

sent where Your packet has been approved by the NVC and sent on to Bogota? If so, within a couple weeks your wife will recieve Packet 3 from the Consulate with a number of forms that she is required to complete and return to the consulate. It also contains a long list of documents that are going to be required at the consulate. She needs to sign a form that says she has all the documents ready before they will accept the package back and sachedule an appointment.

After that she will recieve Packet 4 which contains an interview date. This is typically 4-6 weeks after the letter is sent. More details can be found here:
