Gringas have no problem in Colombia. I met a 45 woman from Canada. She was there as an English teacher. She had a young Colombian boyfriend that was around 25 and he was giving her the chorizo.

I met another girl from Switzerland in Parque Poblado, Medellin. All the Colombian guys were all over her and wanted to meet her.

To put it simply, there is a reason so many Gringos choose to date or marry Colombianas. It's not that they have to in order to "get a date", it is because they choose to. They choose Colombianas over Americanas. It probably has as much to do with hating the culture of Gringas as it does with loving the culture of Colombianas. Well, Southern151, Since I am from the northern Midwest (WI) I would probably have to agree with your statement about those in Oklahoma!! What is they say about Oklahoma? the only thing that comes out of there is Steers and Queers?? LOL... Just kidding of course!! ;)

As far as swearing... I think most Americans have potty mouths! I know i certainly have been known to throw around an Fbomb every now and then.. especially when i drive! Don't get me wrong one this; i am a not terrible looking guy and can have a date where i live now. But found out one thing about colombianas and that is:

Colombianas look more to who you are than to what you are.

Of course there is something about how much you can offer them and such. But still think this is the main point.

We say "Soda", in chicago and Minnesota they call it POP. we call drinking fountains a "bubbler" I dont say "eh" after things (thats a bit more north) but i do say "Hey?" once in a while after saying something. I dont really think i have an accent though...
I have been to the south... I dont even try to understand them... I think they have their own language.. and it aint called English! I think its a requirement for your mother and father to also be your sister and grandpa before you can understand them...lol... JK!!!
