well people thats me finally in Colombia.
flew into Bogota on saturday...and well....what can I say? I love it here. This city seems to have a vibe about it more than the other places I´ve visited like santiago and lima...and the people? man, colombians seem to be the friendliest I´ve met yet in Latin America....this place seems to have everything...can´t wait to see the rest of the country.
Although this candelaria neighbourhood is a bit shady at night.
now alL I need is an apartment, a gym...and of course a Colombiana lol
whats the best newspaper to get to look for apartments? And do any of you know of any decent gyms? Don´t want a monthly membership or anything like that..

Yes, see the rest of the country, to me Candelaria is about as entertaining as Bush is intelligent. Robert Jorge says on May 29, 2008, 17:43: If you think Bogota is friendly, wait until you visit mid-sized cities like Villavicencio, Manizales, Bucaramanga, etc. I'm not dissing Bogota (married to a Rola) - but I find the folks a little farther out in the sticks a lot friendlier, generally speaking, than the big city. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. Alma del Norte says on May 29, 2008, 20:34: There's a gym on Carrera 19, on the right walking up from Septima - it's not very good, treadmill often gives up the ghost, cold showers, that sort of thing. It's about 7 mil by the day. There's another next to the park by the Hotel Continental on Jimenez - never tried it. La vida es una rutina 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

adrimm says on May 29, 2008, 23:17: Head up to Chapinero, about a block or two on either side of la Septima North of Calle 63.. still relatively central and everything is walking distance , safer at night. Get out on Sunday mornings & stroll by the Parque Nacional, if you haven't got a bike you should be able to rent or borrow one from the City. I can find you the info if you are interested.

bufalo says on May 30, 2008, 05:40: I had a geezer try to rob my camera last time I was there. It was on .... forget the number, but the busy street where the Avianca office is half a block before the transmlenio stop. He walked by and "bumped" into my backpack twice, he took his jacket off after the first time supposing I wouldn't recognize him. Second time put him up against a wall and took all the stuff out of his pockets and threw them all on the ground looking for anything he might've taken from me. The crowd did think it was pretty funny. I didn't hit him because of his age. I saw cops everywhere but not at that moment which was probably better for me.
