Well Aeropostal is stopping there Caracas-Medellin Route...

Aeropostal no more to Medellin.. Was trying to get to Isla Margarita and I just called and said they are stopping that route from Medellin to Caracas..

So now to get to Isla Margarita form Medellin will have to fly to Bogota or Panama and then to Caracas and then to Porlamar thats a shame

A whole day wasted...to get to Isla Margarita...

I wonder why Aeropostal was not getting enough business on Caracas Medellin Route and she told me they are also stopping the Bogota route soon...

San Andres is looking better...Direct flight with Aero Republica from Medellin..

Panthdave, San Andres is 100 times better than Margarita! I would go to Providencia...

Hasn't been a lot of good news for Aeropostal lately. They've suspended routes to Aruba, Curacao, Bogota, Medellin, Lima, Havana. Haven't followed all the details but if I recall correctly, I remember reading somewhere the reason is the Venezuelan Govt. isn't giving them access to foreign currency, so they can no longer pay the leases for some of the planes used on those routes.

Looks like they're on Hugo's hit list. :-)

And again, from what I've heard. . . lots of headaches and delays with them, so I'm not sure if you really would save time, it's a crapshoot.

So I'd also say like the others to try San Andres. I guess you and your girl have already been to Santa Marta and want something different for a beach vacation?

If you want something a little special and "out of the way" maybe think about Bocas de Toro in Panama or the Los Roques Archipelago north of Caracas, but it will definitely take most of a day to get to those places.
