Weather in bogota?

Hi!
I'm travelling to Bogota next Monday, can anyone tell me what's the weather like? People there says it's too cold, but I don't know how cold is too cold, where can I find this info? It's Autumn here, and I find it pretty nice.. low 60's at night, and mid 70's during the day
Thank you for your help!

Yes 50's at night 60's in the day, unless then sun comes out and then warmer. Raining a LOT.

Thanks! Thank you Mr Hollywood. I had asked but people say cold or hot, but no temperature! This helps a lot, so I know what kind of clothes to bring!

Bogatanos are weird that way It's funny because the weather here doesn't vary much at all. I don't know where in the states you are but Bogota reminds me of nothing so much as spring in Portland, Oregon or maybe Seattle. Lots of overcast and periodic rains. Very little sun. But it NEVER gets to be what someone from the United States would call truly cold or hot.

Bogatanos, on the other hand, talk about change in the weather here as if it's the summit of Mount Everest or the middle of the Kalahari desert. .

Just About the Same... all the time-figure mid/upper 40's night, mid/upper 60's daytime.
Rain is usually in the form of showers. After say 5:00 p.m. we seldom venture out without a light jacket and I usually wear a long-sleeve shirt in the day time. To back up what Mr. Hollywood said, the wife sometimes resembles an eskimo at night.

"Credidi pretio parvo emere et magno vendere tibi in animo fuisse!" .

It has been raining alot lately So maybe the sun comes out for a couple of hours, but it hasn't been very warm. the afternoons it is raining almost every day, pouring some days, with electrical storms... and it gets very cold. Last night it was freezing! Maybe I'm too "friolenta"...but it was about 9 or 8 degrees Centigrados

Maybe they think that the police will protect them? I wouldn't bet on it :)))
I actually HATED when that sun came out in Bogota. I much preferred the clouds. Even if it was only 65 f = 17c I felt like i was BURNING, that fucking thing is so strong, being so close to the equator. Overcast was just fine for me.

I'm with you Rubi, I burn like a pig in the sun in Bogotá. Of course anything over a 60 watt light bulb and I'm pink!

I was actually quite hot in Bogotá when walking briskly, if anything 10 degrees cooler would have suited me fine.

55 degrees F, a nice summer day!

Kernow62 I loved the weather in Bogota. like you although I am quite dark skinned for a Scot, I disliked the overhead direct sun.

I reasoned that a large, ‘mariachi like' sombrero would be the answer.

That almost ended my relationship prematurely, and it was not helped by my German army field green shirt.

My stated facts, although interesting at times, are generally irrevelant.

The brain is like a parachute, it only functions correctly when it is open. Pax vobiscum.

Did you complete the ensemble with a kilt?

Of course not. I would not wish to look silly?

My advice take off an arm or break the spine. It's pretty hard for someone to stick a knife in your back when he can't move :)))) Then just to be sure, do the same thing to every living relative the POS has. You could probably claim self-defense in Colombia and they would believe you. :)))))

I've seriously never had anybody even look twice at me in Colombia. I usually spot them long before they spot me and I let them know I know they know I know :)

Hey, but some men can really wear a kilt and pull it off well (no pun intended). I didn't know so until last year, but yes it is definitely true. Depends on the guy I guess.

It still raining this past week we've had rain nearly everyday. it's downpouring at the moment. when the sun is out, it's lovely, and you might get burnt as at this altitude it's powerful.

just bring sunscreen, an umbrella and closed toe shoes!

Trip Cancelled :( Hi!
Thanks everyone for all the info.. unfortunately, things changed and my trip got cancelled :( well.. postponed.. After having my suitcase ready! I might bother you all again and ask about the weather in 2 weeks, see if I can keep the same bag or I will have to re-pack it thanks so much everyone.
By the way.. Did you all know the weight for International travel changed from 70lbs per bag to 50lbs? So I guess it's better to take 2 small bags instead of one bigger one.. just thought someone might want to know...

Ahh yes the lost 40 lbs of allowance Incredibly unfair, we had pay for a 3rd checked piece in order to have everything go. I think that by now it is universal across most airlines that allowance is 50 lbs per piece. Baggage handlers must be happy tho...

Baggage Ana, Continental and American both still allow 70 lbs to Colombia from the US. Delta may be different. Check the baggage rules CLOSELY on the website and print out the page. Very often the check in people don't know WTF they're talking about and you'll need to show them.

It's Great! I got into Bog at 2pm and then left on Monday at around 3pm.. so it works great because you don't loose the 2 days you travel, you get there in time for lunch and then have the whole morning on the day you leave.. Since I just went for a short time.. it worked out great!
