Volunteer in Cartagena

I'm an experienced teacher looking to move to Cartagena from the UK where I am now living. I want to find and work with/for an organisation that works with poor children and families.

Obviously paid work would be ideal but if there are voluntary organisations that are about, I'd certainly consider them. I figure I can always teach a little English to get by while i gave my time to an organisation.

Does anyone know of such organisations in or near Cartagena?

Try at "Niños de Papel" Hello!

Take a look at this website: www.ninosdepapel.org This is an organizaton that works with very poor children and maybe you could work with them. This organization started in Bucaramanga, the city where I live, but it also has a see in Cartagena.

These are their e-mails:

Presidencia:
Padre Manuel Jiménez Tejerizo
Correo electrónico: manolojt at ninosdepapel.org

Webmaster:
Correo electrónico: webmaster at ninosdepapel.org

I have an e-friend who has worked with them I think, and maybe she could guide you also about the topic. When are you coming to Colombia?

Have a nice day!
