It will never happen, I live right on the border and the things I see. The border police make tooooooooooooo much money on bribes. it is almost like a second job, for that matter, I am it sure pays more then being a policeman. They do not even have gas stations in Cucuta, how are they going to stop the smuggling? I would have to guess that around 30% of the work force in Cucuta sells gasoline. How will these people feed their families?

It is cool, you can buy Bolivars just about anywhere. Buy them before you enter, there are tons of people standing at the border. Are you entering Ven. from the border of Cucuta and San Antonio? If so, you will not have a problem getting a good rate. If you plan on going far into Ven., make sure you get your passport stamped. If not, you might have to pay the police to let you go further into Ven. The problem is, you have to go and get your passport stamped. No one will ask you to get it stamped. The immigration building is on the left had side once you cross the border.
Cucuta, is a nice place. It is hot as hell here every day. Lots of things to do on the weekends.
