valor administracion

OK, I just bought a one-way ticket to Bogota- will be moving in late December to start a new job and a new life. It's early yet, but I've been checking out metrocuadrado.com to get an idea of the availability of apartments. In all the ads the price of the rent is stated, and below that is listed the "valor administracion." I can't figure out what that means. Is it a one-time broker's fee, or a maintenance fee that is paid every month along with the rent? Thanks for your help.

It's probably the monthly administration (association management) fee. But Mrs. RJ says it might be a separate fee up front. She is pretty sure I am wrong, and that it is a separate fee for when you move in or purchase. Now I think she is correct ... sorry this wasn't a definitive answer.

It most likely it is the monthly maintenance or management fees. It helps with the payment of security and maintenance of comun areas. Sometimes the maintenance fee it is included in the rent bill, other times it is not.

its the maintenance fee...the more shared spaces you have (communal gym, pool, elevators, gardens etc, the higher it'll be. It is a separate fee that the building's maintenance company will send you every month or so.

La campina ... what the hell are you talking about? I want so bad to get your jokes ... I need the laugh(s), but I just don't get them. I am guessing they are beyond my comprehension.

administracion=administration/maintnance fee
many nice apartments have this fee.
the administration fee is usually included in apartastudios.

are you sure they will let you depart with a one way ticket? are you a colombian national? do you have a colombian visa? i tried to buy a one way ticket to colombia a couple years ago and when i got to the airport i was told that i needed to purchase the other half.plus,DAS will ask you for the return ticket when you apply for your 30 day tourist extensions.i had my return ticket dated as far out as possible and managed to get a refund for the other half credited to my credit card.

The administration fee is definitely a monthly fee to cover maintenance, security and insurance for the building. It is not a once-time fee. But, there is no consistency about whether it will already be included in the rental amount or charged additionally. So be very sure to ask about that.

In my case, the admin fee is already included in what I pay. The owner still gets billed directly for it from the building administrators.

Hey folks, thanks for the explanations. Just want to get an idea of what my monthly expenses might be. Yeah, there's something poetic about buying a one way ticket (to anywhere). Well, I'll be leaving Miami behind, with no doubts, and no regrets. I'll be arriving with a work visa, so I don't anticipate any trouble with DAS. I'll let you know if anything comes up. I hope to stay in Bogota for a while, maybe forever...

It's a fee charged to the owners of apartments, if you are renting do not worry about it.
