Hi caza

I found a few places in el centro selling them and I am sure it is easy to find others.

There is one of those shopping arcades just down and left of park berrio (little sense I know but hold on) that has two shops selling them. You know Hotel Nuribita well go left from there standing facing out from the front of the hotel (I´m not staying there as it goes, only 25,000 a night please) when you go across a little road and then go across that street its there on the other side (Carrera 50). Ita a bit confusing as there are exits and entrances all over but you can ask and they will point it out quick.

I am sure you can see the yellow pages as well in any medellin hotel. The problem I had was the price. The good ones made in Germany you might as well buy in Europe or wherever. They are very expensive. The ones from China are still not cheap and not as good
(350,000 too expensive still). I found one on Calle 54 (down about Carrera 52) in a compra venda shop but the owner wanted 450,000 pesos in a compra venta! Sai fora! These compra venta stores are everywhere but accordions are rare.

I think the way to go is local paper or you pay a lot. Tell us how you get on. I wanted to take one home to play on the plane.

Sounds like your looking for a Hohner Corona III / You can buy them in Medellin I'm told brand new with the current exchange rate for around $1100.00 USD. Don't get ripped off and careful if you buy a used one. May not be a Corona III might just be a Corona II . If it's too good to be true well you know the rest. You can find a teacher in Medellin easy.

Ay Hombe!!!

call, CARACOL, tv station. they used to have a great telenovela called 'alejo'...and alejo--the guy--had his own group and they played all traditional instruments, no elec. and his accordian player was tops. ask the station how to hook up with them.

also, you might call the music dept at univ of antioquia. they might help. or call el colombiano and ask for the entertainment editor and see what he'she says. OR, go to envigado on a fri or sat night in front of the park, out front of el pariso and there's musicians coming out your ears. ask them and listen for free.
