NOTES:
1) I live in approx. 1000 SF / 3 bed/2 bath fulltime with my Paisa girlfriend (part time). I run the computer all day for work and use SKYPE for long distance. We watch TV and bathe like normal adults. We also have 5-10 people over at a time about twice (2) a month to entertain or hang out with family.

I must tell that other families I know pay more or less the same. "I am a citizen of the most beautiful nation on earth. jmbone says on Apr 3, 2007, 08:01: Thanks tejasmarcos for the factual info. I have observed that when actual numbers and facts are presented, the thread dies quickly, OR it turns to bla bla bla.

tejasmarcos says on Apr 3, 2007, 09:02: thanks jmbone for the nice comments. i look here for information, so i try to provide some back when i can. i recently ran an ad to sublet my apartment here in Medellin and it was smeared by someone who said all his sources stated that the utilities on my apartment would range between $300-450 a month. i just thought i would set the records straight and post the actual amounts for those interested. trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

tejasmarcos says on Apr 3, 2007, 10:16: nope it was a gringo new to Medellin quoting dollars. he insisted he had friends in Poblado that could not be wrong. trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

tejasmarcos says on Apr 3, 2007, 10:30: yep but he couldn't resist posting his ALL KNOWING facts in my rental thread. i pulled the ad and i am now in talks with a local agency who will make it available at a rate 50% above what i was originally offering. they already have 3-4 people interested in the unit. trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

robi666 says on Apr 3, 2007, 11:25: Yes Tejas people over here just think about the stuff of "gringo price". That price is crazy, you're doing that because we're gringos and so on... tejasmarcos says on Apr 3, 2007, 13:04: thanks for the advice, robi666 the agency route looks like it has the potential to eliminate some headaches. i'll re-post afterwards once i have some success with the agency i am speaking with. trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

tejasmarcos says on Apr 3, 2007, 16:36: damn, that is alot higher than mine, gorgonabob. hmmmmm, i guess i'm frugal and didn't know it. your internet stands out alot. have you checked the epm triple play? that alone would save you 10% of the total bill. also, i never use my phone, so it is neglible. trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

tejasmarcos says on Apr 7, 2007, 07:36: hmmmmm i thought Robi666 posted the agency information RUV asked for, but now it is gone. why would someone want to remove useful information that could be passed along on this site? that makes no logical sense to me............. trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Cerealkiller says on Apr 8, 2007, 05:19: Wow, Medellin sounds indeed a lot cheaper than Bogota. This is a breakdown of what I know we paid, this is 4.5 people in Estrato 6. Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives -John Stuart Mill 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

|
tejasmarcos says on Apr 9, 2007, 17:54: Greg444 the link and photos were of my current apartment i'm leasing. i happen to be subletting it while i go back to the states for a few months. i never said it was worth $314,000. i said i had previewed some apartments in Poblado that were priced in that range and the info i was collecting supported 7-8% per year in appreciation rates for the original buyers of those apartments......... trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Cerealkiller says on Apr 11, 2007, 01:41: Tejasmarcos Just a thought, might be a little off the track but my parents bought a flat in Bogota a few years ago. When they bought it it was the equivalent of 280K USD, this was maybe 2001 or something like that, the place has gained value as it is very well located, but when you do the bloody conversion, it is still 280K USD!!!
