USCIS

Just noticed this a bit ago. I looked at the case search sites for California and still showed they are working on I-130's as of Feb 28, 05. I checked Texas and they some how must have caught up on their work or something as they are showing the same thing? Could it be Texas is mirroring what California has because of forwarding the Petitions? Maybe Texas is acctually on a road to "recovery".

Goin' to Cali Hey Dan,

Where did you find those dates? The website I saw still shows the Texas process dates for Feb '04.

But they should be on the schedule you mentioned. Here's what Sonny posted on 5/14:

"I got a call from my congressmans off telling me that my K-1 visa application is now in California, received my tracking number and was told that California is now processing applications for the last few days of Feburary and March. This was great news not haveing to deal with Texas cervice center."

Hope it's accurate I sent in my novia's docs last week.

Later,
DH

Just saw this now. Seems the K3's are getting processed a little faster again. At least for what I saw with California. California is working on I130's from March and the K3's are at June... I'm thinking I should have filed for the K3 too.

I'm kicking myself now.

They are working on March but I sent my stuff in mid May,, I could probably file now and still get done faster than the I130.

God Bless America!

At about the same time that Missouri got their act together again and caught up on their backlog, people stopped filing for K-3s. It had become pointless to file for a K-3 so people like yourself just stopped doing it. I wouldn't kick myself about it - in the long run she's much better off with a CR-1 than a K-3. My wife had a K-3 and it was worthless.

Dan says on Jul 7, 2005, 12:01:

and you're still waiting for the AOS too?

Cleaning up the backlog is probably why they went from working on last years to a little over two weeks ago. I'm thinking now I can probably handle waiting. I go back to work down there in Oct (so I've heard) So that should be good timing for the interview and we can come back together. At least that is what I'm planning. But then again, Every time I try planning something the Govt.. I mean Employment seems to bring something up to screw it up.

I have plenty of patience (she sure as hell doesn't) so I'll keep my mouth shut and see how it plays out.

God Bless America!

Lucky for us we live in an area served by the San Antonio district office of the USCIS so her AOS was fast. They get them done in 4 months. She's got her green card now.

June 8? I have a NOA1 (I-797C) with a notice date of May/25 and I haven't been touched - and the USCIS web page sales my status hasn't changed since receipt (May/25). What is recommended action at this point? A phone call to them maybe?

Thanks

rjstuff says on Jul 9, 2005, 20:26:

flaleo I think its too soon to check. My case took about 60 days for approval in Nebraska (I also had an RFE - which took 7 days from RFE to approval.) It all depends on which visa center you are going through - some are faster than others and Nebraska I now see complaints about being too slow now. Check on Visa Journey and see other people's timelines to give you an idea. Good luck

Don't put too much faith in the notifications When I was in that stage, I heard nothing for almost 3 months, then I got 3 e-mails and two letters saying my I-129 had been approved and was going off to the NVC (NOA-2)....

Then again, it was nothing, I tried phoning (no information) until I got the letter from the NVC saying things were off to the Embassy, and, of course...more waiting...

My fiancé was supposed to get a packet from the embassy (Packet 3) that never came, so after waiting for a month, she just faxed the forms downloaded from the internet.

Then, more nothing... no reply, no packet.... until she got a phone call explaining a mixup in the letters (that had yet to arrive)

In the end, after much fussing, she has her interview in less then two weeks. So with any luck she'll be in the U.S. this time next month. If all goes well, the total time from first sending the packet to her reaching the U.S. will be just over 6 months...even though it seems like MUCH longer than that.

I agree that it would be nice to get some sort of progress indicator that updated more often then once every couple of months, but you do the best you can with what you have to work with.

In the meantime...my fingers are still crossed that everything goes well.

Dan says on Jul 10, 2005, 06:04:

Not to worry. I sent my petitions (I-130 x2) in early may. Sent to Texas that they forwarded to California. I have only heard that they only notify you when they get it, need more info, approval/disapproval. The rest in between is all waiting.

Like I keep telling my wife. The government is slow, so you need a little more patience (she has little).

God Bless America!

rjstuff says on Jul 10, 2005, 10:30:

I think you are both very correct The one thing we all need is patience - at all stages. I started with a little study of timelines on Visa Journey and decided that the K1 was faster than the K3. So, I planned for K1 only but kept one thing in mind - 6 months as a baseline - a couple of months plus minus was my target so to speak - 3 months to 9 months was my expectation. My fiancee's interview is on Jul 21 - about 5 months from the time of my petition - so its progressing quite nicely. Many people have no patience (I call them the McDonald crowd) they want everything immediately and do not cherish the wait, the suspense, the learning, the understanding, the sadness and sweetness of this process which to me is how I view all of my life (or try to view it.)
Good luck to all of you and relax - I have heard Aguilas help!

flaleo says on Jul 10, 2005, 15:10:

But their website says CSC is processing I129Fs received Jun/8. Doesn't that mean they've finished with May filings? Or does it mean they're working on some June filings, and still haven't touched some received in May or April?

I'm prepared to have plenty of patience... unless info they post on their website tells me there's an issue (like implying their done with May).

utopiacowboy says on Jul 10, 2005, 15:29:

This is the importance of the processing date on the site:

"If you filed your case 30 days or more before the date shown under the heading “Processing Cases with Receipt Date of and you have not received a request for evidence, a decision, or another notice in the last thirty days, please call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283."

At least this way you can launch an inquiry into what happened with your petition.
