Uribe calls for investigation into alleged Venezuelan Mayor-FARC

Colombian President Ă?lvaro Uribe Thursday said he was ordering an investigation into the reported links between Giancarlo Di Martino, Mayor of Maracaibo, Venezuelan northwestern Zulia state, and Colombian guerrilla groups, following publication of a video footage showing the Venezuelan official delivering supplies to allegedly guerrilla troops on the Colombia-Venezuela border.

Should these relations be confirmed, "it would be very serious, and I am speaking to the Defense Ministry and judges" to delve into this issue, Uribe told reporters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, AFP reported.

The video footage, disclosed by Venezuelan regional TV station ZuvisiĂłn and posted on youtube.com, shows a man identified as Maracaibo Mayor Gian Carlo Di Martino delivering food supplies and other equipment to troops of the rebel Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC) and the National Liberation Army (ELN).

On Tuesday, when asked about the recording, Venezuelan Executive Vice-President Ramón Carrizález said he had no information on the issue.

Cassini, this is what you posted a while ago:

“Videos of retained by FARC contradict hypothesis of Uribe

I hope for him that this little boy in Bogota is really the son of Clara Rojas.
Because if this story is a subterfuge from Santos and Uribe, I wouldn´t consider his days worth much.
For example he could disappear before being returned to Rojas grandmother ("these FARC gangsters have kidnapped him spite of the heroic opposition of our valiant soldiers" or " an enormous fire burnt him entirely")."

So much for the "gossips elaborated in the dens of Uribe"...

Bravo, Presidente Uribe for the perfect operation!

Damned if you do, damned if you don't…

If Uribe had revealed that the boy may not be in the hands of the Farc (there was no certainty at the time), you would have accused him of sabotaging the release of the hostages…

Bravo, Presidente Uribe for the perfect operation!

Oh please, According to Cassini only Chavez and farc tell the truth...no matter how outrageous..oh and Uribe always lies.

Cassini, just come out and say it: you're a farc supporter. It's been obvious for some time.

cassini says "Catherine b, just come here and say: you're Mancuso supporter. It's been obvious for some time."

Really??? How so?? When have I EVER defended the paras? I have condemned them as terrorists and murderers on more than one occasion on this forum.

Unlike you who has NEVER once said anything negative about farc.

Whenever someone here posts news of another para atrocity I don't feel compelled to come to their defense, insult posters who speak out against the paras.

Unlike YOU who refuses to acknowledge the farc are criminals and who insults anyone here who expresses their disgust towards farc.

And if ever there were a petition to add names to "NO MAS AUC" I would sign it and I would not attempt to dissuade others from signing their names.

Unlike YOU who not too long ago posted some story about how "dangerous" Facebook is, the CIA can obtain your personal information, blah, blah, blah. What was the point of that post? As you mentioned yourself, Facebook is the place where people are signing their names protesting farc (NO MAS FARC).

So what purpose does it serve to frighten people from not joining Facebook, in relation to NO MAS FARC? The only purpose would be to dissuade people from signing their names to a list repudiating farc. Who would try to dissuade anyone from signing a petition that denounces farc? Only a farc supporter!

Thank you Cassini for once again proving my point. Insults are the only weapons left to those who lack valid arguments.

The timing of the video is very suspicious. I don't think its known still whether the video is a montage, but a couple weeks ago the Americans also doctored a video of Iranian speed boats threatening US warships in the strait of hormuz.

The recording “I am coming to you, you will explode after a few minutes." was analyzed by the Iranians and they found that the audio track was not synchronized properly with the video. The video and audio were recorded separately, then combined.

Its seems someone maybe immitating the American warmongers crude tactics. These tactics may be able to affect public opinion even if later like the Americans WMD nonsense they are proven to be false.
