Upgrading site

I'm upgrading the code to the site, it could behave a bit strange in the coming hours. Apologies for any problems!

It seems like the upgrade went ok, let me know if you find any problems.

Yo Peter,

First off, thanks for this site. Appreciate your work. Is there a code to make my avatar bigger?

No, the picture is the same size for everyone.

I think I was of the first people to moan about the changes. But now I utterly eat my words. The upgrade has been fantastic! Congratulations!

Peter,

I'll add my thanks for all your work here. PBH has become a really pleasant place to learn and laugh for me.

I'd like to make a suggestion for your future thought. I know that your format doesn't lend itself well to the idea now- but it IS your codee, now no? ;)

Other sites I frequent have "stickies" - threads that have ongoing value, and save folks, especially newbies, clogging up the site with questions that are repeated dozens of times. Maybe this makes some sense here? One of my favorites on another site is "the best of..." - a permanent thread that lists favorite restaraunts, doctors, bars, rums, anything that folks would typically ask about.

Just a thought....

slguy - I'm working on a 'travel guide' feature that will help a lot to keep commonly asked questions and stuff. But something like you mention could work too. I'll keep it in mind (I only have limited time for this programming unfortunately.)

the PBH text block is vertically centered now, too. Before, the parrot was weighing it down.

The new site is impressive.

I liked it better when threads you had already read were a different colour (magenta?) from ones you had not. I concede that with the "1 new" addendum it is still easy to tell which threads you have read.

Most of the changes are great! India is an interesting and beautiful place to travel. I will have to go to Bolivia next. ;)

Peter, thanks for all your work in improving the site.

I just noticed something that might have broken in the upgrade. If you are in "Active" view, click the page numbers at bottom of screen to go to page 2 or 3. The URL has page 2 or 3 in it, but you still see page 1's topics.

que nota!

In both the "äctive" and the "friendly talkzone", only the first page will come up regardless of which page number you request at the bottom of the page. Like Pedro says, but for other fora too.

Hahaha! I'd serve yo guys drinks it's just that the plain tickets to get there would make it kinda expensive for me. No tip jar at the moment but the Hungersite is still a great cause.

Peter, are you planning to add an "Edit" Feature like PBH had before? This is a great tool.
