Update on the song Vallenato song title and group I asked about:

Hey, does anyone know an older vallenato song that goes:

A friend recorded several discs full of older vallenatos and unfortunately she has no idea who sang many of the songs. If anyone has any ideas who the group may be, please let me know. I'm interested in hearing more of their music if at all possible, but it is extremely difficult to find a lot of the older artists. I may make a new post with other lyrics of songs where I don't know who is singing. Thanks ahead of time for any help!!!

Turns out that the song was composed by Nafer Duran and it was interpreted by Toby Murgas and Ender Alvarado. You can still find any vallenato songs even the classic ones in Colombia, I saw a several artists and labels in music stores in Barranquilla, ie, Vivero San Francisco...

When I told my friend, she confirmed that it was probably Toby Murgas.

I might be going to Colombia in the summer. If so, I'm setting a side some money to buy several Cd's worth of the classics and a Gaita (I've always wanted one).

Also, i just purchased the DVD of Escalona online. I can't wait to see it after all of these years of waiting!
