up to date travelog

I came across this in a PBH question about the Islas Rosarios a while back. It is a blog about a typical tour of Colombia that finished last month so it's bang up to date.

Other bonuses are that it's readable and lots goes wrong. Also his girlfriend writes up her account at the same time. Some good photos.

I thought it was particularly good on the Ciudad Perdida trip.

Happy reading.

read 4 stories on the girl blog and all i found was a whine about this and that. Wonder why someone like her travels. Maybe I just picked the four bad ones.

That's what I found amusing especially as I'd been to all the places and loved them. Of course I travel ALONE.

After all the over positive comments on Colombia it's quite nice to read another viewpoint.

As this is actually my blog, I can answer 'bickerss' directly on that one: I didn't so much as choose to go to Colombia myself--I would say 'coerced' might be a better term, as it was my boyfriend who wished to go, and since I live with my boyfriend, and had to give up a lease and a job with my boyfriend and I love my boyfriend that means I'd go WITH my boyfriend.
This has been the first time in my life that I have really traveled like this, so I think given that understanding, it may make more sense as to why I might sound like I am "whining." I think the important thing is that I actually WENT and EXPERIENCED things in my own way instead of sitting on my couch wishing I could travel the world. Sorry I'm not such a savvy traveler as you.
And furthermore: 1) I'm a New Yorker, and as a New Yorker, that's what we do, we tell stories in a whining fashion. It's what made Seinfeld a billionaire; and finally 2) it's my blog, and I'm allowed to say whatever I damn please, whether it be whining or no. After all, I'm not the one who posted that link, and I didn't ask for it.

One afterthought: El Flaco, thanks for the link regardless and thank you for enjoying my perspective.

No need to be sorry you are not a savy traveler - and yes, it is your blog, you can say what you will so pls continue whining your way to becoming the next Seinfeld!

JSM...A trek to Ciudad Perdida is something you should definitely plan and not do on a whim....

Take it as a learning lesson in life, enjoy the fact that you did experience something that a lot of people will never do..... It's not called the Lost City for no reason.... But, sounds like you're more of a Hawaii Mai-Tai vacationer, if so, then you'll miss out in a lot of beauty...

Are you, by any chance, Jewish, JSM?

What's a famous Jewish wine?

JSM
My wife (Colombian) and I (German), we both read your blog from the end to the beginning, and both enjoyed it very much. It is definitely quite well written! We appreciated the personal, subjective perspective you take. A lot of peope just seem to copy their travel experiences from each other, that's why they (and we that follow their guidance) all end up at the same places...
