UK Tourist Visa vs. USA Tourist visa

Hello,
I have a question concerning getting a tourist visa for a colombian national into the USA. When i was working in London, UK i helped my colombian girlfriend get a tourist visa to go to the UK. We showed all the documents necessary to establish our relationship and the visa was granted. I would like to do the same for the USA, so my question is basically if she got one from the UK, which was pretty hard, would she most likely get approval from the US? She is divorced, has no income, nor owes any property, but does have a son who lives with his father, and the only money she has came from me. But just like i supplied the UK embassy proof that i was responsible for her, would the USA embassy most likely accept the same proof and approve a 6 month tourist visit? Has anyone had similiar experiences with UK and US tourist visas????

She has to show that she has her own means of support. Showing that you are her only means of support is a guaranteed way to get rejected. My sister-in-law, her husband and three children recently received visas as did my mother-in-law and brother-in-law. They grilled them on their finances and purpose of their trip.
