I've heard it said that it's not easy to eat good in Colombia. Every day arepas for breakfast, lunch and dinner nearly the same. Not. When you learn where you live you find the "hole in the wall" spots that make specality foods.
The other day I discovered a place that smokes fish every Friday. A month ago I found a fish place. For those who like egg salad sanwhiches, I made some the other day with bacon flavored mayo (mayoqueso is good too) on real wheat bread. and wasked it down with Hugo Hit mora. SOOO good I had 2. Saturday evening I went to buy baloto tickets and wifey asked for some "Pan Hawwiano". I did that and they had some fresh bunellos (sp?) too, so of course I munched on one them as I waddled back home. Diet? What stinking diet?

Tinto (Moderator) says on Aug 21, 2007, 09:57: Tang! I always laugh when I see that in Colombian grocery stores. Makes no sense to me when mandarinas and other fruit are so abundant, but, hey, at least something useful has come from the tens of billions we've spent on NASA.

Cerealkiller says on Aug 22, 2007, 02:40: Odd stuff, i always eat like a princess in Colombia. I dont know how to cook and I often down have time to sit to a proper meal, although when I do its usually quite good. In Colombia, on the other hand, I can eat out everyday, take my time and if Im at home my nanny will cook for me she knows all my food quirks, so its great.
